Professor Diana Kloss MBE is a barrister with considerable experience of both practice and research in employment law and occupational health law. Having spent the first part of her career as an academic in the University of Manchester, where she is still an honorary senior lecturer, she qualified as a barrister as a mature student and was later appointed as a part-time judge in the employment tribunal. She is the author of a number of books and articles, including Occupational Health Law, 5th edition 2010, and writes a regular legal column in Occupational Health at Work. She is a visiting professor at London South Bank University.
Diana has been a member of a number of government committees, including the Expert Advisory Group on AIDS and the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council. In 2009 she was appointed MBE for services to occupational health. She has been appointed the Chair of the Council for Work and Health, which brings together representatives of all the professions involved in the provision of occupational health services.
